bakecut is a desktop application that creates and edits video subtitles using on-device AI. The service is operated by an individual developer ("we"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.
Some features require an account (email and password). You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe. You must be at least 14 years old to create an account.
The Free plan includes a monthly AI transcription allowance. Paid plans (Pro, Premium) raise or remove this allowance and unlock additional features. Allowances reset monthly and unused time does not carry over.
Paid subscriptions are processed by our payment partner Paddle, which acts as Merchant of Record. Prices are shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. See our Refund Policy.
Exports on the Free plan include a small bakecut watermark. You may remove it by either upgrading to a paid plan or crediting bakecut (for example, "Made with bakecut") in your video title or description. If you choose the credit option, you agree to actually include the credit.
Your videos and subtitle projects are processed and stored on your own computer. We do not receive, store, or claim any rights to your video content. You are responsible for having the rights to the videos you edit.
You may not reverse engineer the app to bypass plan restrictions, resell access, or use the service for unlawful content.
The app is provided "as is". AI transcription may contain errors; please review subtitles before publishing. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
